The Dereham & Fakenham Barbarians hosted their first league game of the season at the Stringer Ground in Fakenham against the Norwich Medics, looking to bounce back from their defeat at West Norfolk a fortnight ago.
It was the away side that opened the scoring with a converted try after 15 minutes.
The Barbarians then levelled the game with a converted try of their own, before taking the lead with another.
The medics shot back with an unconverted try to bring them within 2 points at 14 - 12.
Another converted try for the Barbarians gave them some breathing space with a two score lead.
However, that didn't last long as two quick fire converted tries for the Medics just before the break saw them regain the lead.
The half time score was 21 - 26.
Three tries in the space of ten minutes shortly after the break saw the Barbarians take control of the game, though only one was converted.
The Medics fought back with an unconverted try to bring them within a score at 38 - 31.
The see saw nature of the game continued with the Barbarians scoring next, a converted try to extend their lead, before the Medics hit back with a converted try of their own.
Finally, with five minutes to go, the Barbarians scored an unconverted try that would be the last points of the game.
The final whistle was blown with the score 50 - 38, an exciting game to entertain the crowd.
The Barbarians had two men of the match, with Jamie Steer getting the nod for his hat trick and Dan Hanner for getting his first try.
Josh Gee also scored two tries, while the scorer of the eighth Barbarians try remains a mystery.
Thanks to the supporters on the touchline, including those coming over from Dereham. The next Barbarians game is in two weeks, at Dereham, so head over there and support the boys if you can.
